Wendy Newhofer
Originally trained as a primary school teacher, Wendy first encountered kiln formed glass on an art foundation course and was immediately captivated by the process. She subsequently studied 3D glass in London for 3 years before setting up her own studio in Oxford.

Wendy creates expressive glass pieces, often using familiar images that are transformed by a change of scale. Drawing is an important part of the initial process then a combination of glass with metal in the form of fine leaf and wire enables her to ‘draw’ within the glass. This produces a palette of subtle colours with a real painterly quality when the glass is fired in the kiln.

Wendy has work in a number of local galleries as well as exhibiting at Art Fairs. She has opened her studio during Oxfordshire Artweeks for the past six years.
