Born and educated in London; trained at University of Reading (BA Hons Fine Art) and at Central St Martins School of Art.
Rahima is based in Oxford but spends frequent sojourns in the beautiful Scottish Borders. Much of her work is inspired by travels in Europe and Asia Minor and a love of landscape, wildlife, and rather long walks along ancient pathways.
She makes a range of prints using the intaglio press; they are usually black and white etchings or colourful painterly mixed-media monotypes and collographs.
Rahima has been a member of Oxford Printmakers Cooperative since its early days and regularly teaches short courses in etching there. She has exhibited with the Cooperative for many years.
A coordinator for Oxford city 'Artweeks' Visual Arts Festival, Rahima is a strong advocate for art in community education and is an experienced tutor of all ages. She has a portable press and is available for demonstrations and residencies.
Rahima's work has been shown widely and is in private collections ranging from Cap Ferrat to Geneva, Florida, Capetown and Australia.
