DipAD, DipSIAD, ATC
place - artist - painting - viewer
I create my paintings by unpicking, editing and reassembling elements
of landscape and place. I like to explore the boarder between realism
and abstraction through layering, markmaking and colour. A level of
abstraction allows the viewer to create their own interpretation of
the image completing the creative process.
I studied Art and
Design at High Wycombe College of Technology and Art and Hornsey College
of Art in the 1970's and currently teach in the Faculty of Creativity
and Culture at Bucks New University. I am a member of The Drawing Research
Network and the Oxford Art Society and 2007 won The Honorary Member's
Prize. My drawing, painting and sculpture have been exhibited throughout
the UK and in the USA.
